Is Baking YouTube still a thing?

So since bringing my business back home, I have been doing a lot of— lounging around. And if you’re anything like me, I put the tv on for background noise.– correction, the KIDS put it on while they’re awake. When they go to sleep, that’s when I put it on. I do my best thinking when I see other creatives doing something fun and new. Since I don’t have a favorite show right now, I like putting on YouTube and watching my favorite farm animals– yes I really do. It got me thinking though… Is YouTube for baking/decorating still a thing?

So I do have a YouTube for Ocakesions (linked below). I have used it occasionally for tutorials– for example, when the whole world was on lock down in 2020, I sold some cookie decorating kits. Video was on private for only a few people who purchased and watched it and its been long deleted since. I would like to expand, maybe, on this part of the world wide web, but don’t know exactly what would be fun for me and you.

There’s a joke in the business that instead of going to culinary school, there are people who went to YouTube University. Although funny– its true. No Degree, No Experience cooking for others, BUT have awesome skills. Besides teaching myself how to play Ukulele, I have YouTubed some techniques that I have never done or barely used in the past 20 years baking professionally. Example– I learned how to use SugarLace from YouTube. They didn’t have that lesson in culinary school!

So friends, tell me who is your favorite YouTuber AND bonus if they are Baking/Decorating. Also, would you watch if I did some videos? I personally like it when people narrate and explain– which I know I do. Tell me what you would like to see! I would like to start making this happen by the end of the year.
